Programs

Grades 1-5 Coding Camps

Prepare your child for a dynamic, digital world by teaching them valuable skills now. Children love our curriculum because it makes computer science and learning to code fun. One exercise involves dragging and dropping commands to program their fuzzy character to get through a maze. By doing this, young children learn problem solving, computational thinking, sequence, conditions, loops, functions and debugging. These are basic skills necessary for learning any programming language. interactive tutorials allow each child to learn new programming items at his or her own pace. Knowledgeable instructors guide them, as they make their own mazes and create their own games. They will actually create their own apps and learn about robots.

Campers won’t spend all day coding, however. They will also enjoy the active play and recreation that are hallmarks of Georgetown Hill summer camp. Real fun with coding plus play equals a captivating experience that provides a foundation of skills for a life and success.

Grades 6-12 Coding Camps

Does your daughter like sports or your son into music? Check out Coding + Sports, Coding + Music and more. Before Care/After Care

Campers may be dropped off as early as 8:00am and be picked up by 5:00pm. Children will be constantly engaged in a variety of physical and fun activities during these hours, not just working on coding projects.

Recreation Program

Our summer camps are a springboard for exploration, discovery, and FUN! Our PLAN™ curriculum philosophy extends into our camp experience, through activities focused on imagination and a variety of enriching and fun-filled experiences. Count on an assortment of interactive recreation, such as games, music, sports, nature, art, cooking, and joyful wonder.

Talking with a Pro

Coding applications are growing at warp speed and kids need to know about tangible opportunities. Each week, they’ll have an interactive discussion with real-world professionals in various fields, to learn about how the things they are learning translate to life, business and innovation. Campers will be able to ask and answer questions during live, interactive videoconferences with the professionals that use the skills they are developing every day.

Student Project Presentation Live Streams

No-pressure demonstrations of campers’ individual and/or group projects give all campers an opportunity to show peers, family and community what they have created using their newly found knowledge. Seeing and hearing the pride in campers’ work is a highlight of camp and a positive experience for young learners. Busy parents can attend presentations remotely, if unable to attend due to adult commitments, through live streaming and posting on the web.

Off-site Instruction

During enrollment, students have access to their courses 24×7 using their own computers. During business hours, they also have access to online instructor support. So they can continue their study if they need to miss class.
