Hood College Lab School Campus
Georgetown Hill’s Hood College Lab School is operated jointly by the college’s Department of Education and Georgetown Hill. Established in 1929 by Onica Prall, a Hood College professor, the Lab School serves children and families in Frederick, as well as parents who are employed by Hood College. We offer both full- and part-time programs for Twos through Pre-Kindergartners. The play-based P.L.A.N. curriculum at Hood utilizes evidence-based approaches to early childhood education that spark the natural learner in every child.

Shelby has served as both a teacher and director, working at the Apple Ridge and Clarksburg campuses before landing at the Hood College Lab School location. Shelby cherishes the connections she builds with children and their families, finding immense joy in watching children grow and thrive. Outside of work, Shelby enjoys baking, cooking, spending time with her family and their dogs, and gardening.
