The Non-Profit Model
Georgetown Hill is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Why does this matter?

Quality of Care
Georgetown Hill is able to dedicate greater financial resources to the success of every classroom, including:
- Higher staff compensation and benefits, enabling us to attract and retain the best early childhood educators in the field
- Better teacher-child ratios, which allows for more individual attention and care for each child
- Instructional coaching for teachers to support professional growth and enrich children’s educational experiences
Mission Focus
Georgetown Hill is guided by our mission–to partner with families through the challenges and celebrations of raising young children. We believe this mission comes before profits.
Governance and Financial Transparency
An independent Board of Directors provides oversight and accountability for Georgetown Hill’s operations. Georgetown Hill’s finances are reviewed annually by independent auditors and records are made publicly available;
Make a Donation
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your donations may be eligible for tax deductions. Every dollar donated directly supports our ability to nurture children, families, and early childhood teachers.
The Ellen Cromwell Fund
The Ellen Cromwell Fund was established in April 2025 to honor the memory of Georgetown Hill’s beloved founder. Ellen, or “Ellie” to most, embodied all that is magical about early childhood education—the joy of seeing children’s personalities develop, the messy art of running a classroom, the spontaneity of impromptu learning experiences, and the fervent belief that families need trusted partners in their parenting journeys. She was an education trailblazer, an aspirational teacher, and a cherished friend.
Donations to the fund will be used to recognize excellence in teaching within the Georgetown Hill community, honoring Ellen’s legacy of dedication, inspiration, and radical love of children.
